Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra.

Yea.. I went to Malaysia philharmonic orchestra yesterday. This is my first time went to KLCC concert hall. Thank you Marc for the special seat.
In my first impression, the environment in the concert hall is surprisingly comfortable. The lighting effect on the ceiling create a romantic feel.
This time, the concert is conduct by Paul Goodwin with the flute soloist by Hitsto Dobrinov.
The whole programme consists of four classical songs which is Suite from Les Boreades, Flute Concerto in D minor, Suite from Semiramis and Symphony No. 99 in E flat.

The environment in the orchestra hall.
The handsome conductor.
Even though the songs are quite boring, but I'm really enjoy with the beauty of the sounds produce by the cello and flute.
The most interesting part of this concert is the timpani. The body language of the musician is really fantastic. Anyway, he has the most easy task in the whole concert.
For those who is interested for the classical music, this will be a great experience in KLCC.

Holcim Award

Sorry for no posting recently.
Finally, I came back from India. This is my incredible experience so far.
Anyway, I still waiting all the nice photo from my friends.
The story start from the Holcim competition.
The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction was created to raise international awareness of the important role that architecture, engineering and construction have in helping to achieve a more sustainable future.

With this in mind, the Holcim Foundation’s primary objective has been to select and support a range of initiatives that extend beyond technical solutions to creating sustainable construction outcomes which embrace architectural excellence and enhanced quality of life.

Well..Chin Keng, Steven, Chee Seng, Tee Yau and I took part in the Holcim architecture sustainable construction competition in this April. We spend around 4 days to complete the whole project. Everything is worth when we received the e-mail from holcim.

We had been informed that our project is one of of the winning project and the most interesting part for this moment is that we have to go to India and received the award.
I was just like dreaming....
Thank you Ar. Hong. The mentor for tree savior.
Here is the website for our winning project.

Just finish the structure test today, feel release for one day..haiz...

No promises

Hey baby, when we are together, doing things that we love.
Every time you're near I feel like I’m in heaven, feeling high
I don’t want to let go, girl.
I just need you to know girl.

I don’t wanna run away, baby you’re the one I need tonight,
No promises.
Baby, now I need to hold you tight, I just wanna die in your arms

Here tonight

Hey baby, when we are together, doing things that we love.
Everytime you're near I feel like I’m in heaven, feeling high
I don’t want to let go, girl.
I just need you to know girl.

I don’t wanna run away, baby you’re the one I need tonight,
No promises.
Baby, now I need to hold you tight, I just wanna die in your arms

I don’t want to run away, I want to stay forever, through Time and Time..
No promises

I don’t wanna run away, I don’t wanna be alone
No Promises
Baby, now I need to hold you tight, now and forever my love

No promises

I don’t wanna run away, baby you’re the one I need tonight,
No promises.
Baby, now I need to hold you tight, I just wanna die in your arms

Rendering and rendering: Competition and freelance

I think I kisiao recently, non stop rendering and rendering-for competition and freelance..
Anyway, I still like it..maybe this is my destiny.
I think my first rendering is just too bad in term of resolution. i can't imagine the reaction of the client when he looks at this.

The model is something like this, and hopefully I stil have time to modify it and take part in the competition.
The most 'dulan' thing is that i have to wait for 10 hours in order to complete the rendering where I just left 2 hours to submit the drawing.

This is not the first time, rushing for the submission, but this time I just feel like heart attack...
Is time for me to take a rest, because our life is short..

My first painting on canvas

Here it is, my first painting on canvas using acrylic. Basically, this painting is all about the environmental issue in my last studio project.
Most of my friends was asking me about the eye' in my painting.
Actually, i want to bring a message is that don't justify something that you see but is more to observation and thinking.

This is the canvas (RM40),

Arcylic (RM18), and time(priceless), effort (priceless)

At the second stage of my painting.

Almost finish.....
I spend around 1 day to finish the whole painting.
Seriously, not like others group member..(uv light) , spent 1 week to finish her painting..
OMG...please dun so kiasu la...
Anyway, for more information, or you are interesting in this painting, just leave a comment.
Between, this painting not for sale..

Truth....University is just wasting time, wasting money..

If you want to get rich and famous, don't go to the university. It is just a provocation but the list of "15 successful entrepreneurs who didn’t need college" that a blogger compiled, is quite interesting: Mary Kay Ash (cosmetics), Richard Branson (Virgin brand), Coco Chanel (fashion designer), Simon Cowell (xecutive for Sony BMG), Michael Dell (Pc), Barry Diller (Fox Broadcasting Company), Walt Disney (animator), Debbi Fields (Mrs. Field’s Cookies), Henry Ford (auto making industry), Bill Gates (Microsoft), Milton Hershey (chocolate company), Steve Jobs (Apple), Rachel Ray (food industry), Ty Warner (owner, CEO, and Chairman of Ty, Inc.), Frank Lloyd Wright (architect).

In regard of Frank Lloyd Wright, he never attended high school and was admitted to the University of Wisconsin as a special student in 1885. He left the University two years later, without taking a degree. Even though he never graduated, in 1931 Frank and Olgivanna Lloyd Wright announced the plan to form their own school at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin to "Learn by Doing: "Education at Taliesin would emphasize painting, sculpture, music, drama, and dance "in their places as divisions of architecture." The school is prestigious and famous but I'm not so sure that F.L. Wright would have graduated there or to any other school. In 1955 he was granted an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin

We can find another example in Italy. Carlo Scarpa, one of the most important architects of the twentieth century and a life-long interest in the organic architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, was not permitted to practice architecture because he was graduated from a non-professional program. His clients, associates, craftspersons called him "Professore," rather than "architetto."
One of the most famous contemporary architects, Tadao Ando, was deeply influenced by Scarpa's building, so sensitive to the changes of time, and by his profound understanding of materials. Tadao Ando, never graduated, worked as a truck driver and boxer prior before being architect.

MOdelling

I know that is a long time I dint write a post...Im damn busy with the assignment, presentation and studio.. But, there is one subject which is quite interesting for me..research on a Malay house.
Now, since my group members finished the drawings already, it is a great time for me to do a model. Some of the people will think that I was the crazy people to do this kind of model...
waste money, wasting time and wasting material..
Anyway, for me is fun, interesting and amazing..

First, what you have to do is prepare a transparent color paper and soft board..
(if you want to try la)...

Cut, paste and make sure all the works are neat.

Waiting for the inspiration.

The most difficult part of this model is I have to reduce the thickness of the soft board.
Nothing much, just be more patient..

Den Den Den Den

Look at the screen.,..,., OMG.. stil have a lot to go...
I spend one hour for each component...

This is the pelarai...this will be more crazy...I have to divide the thickness of the soft
board into 3 parts..

Here is the final product for the two components..
